Hummus is a delicious and nutritious Middle Eastern classic, perfect as an appetizer or dip with pita bread and vegetables. Its main ingredient is high quality extra virgin olive oil, which gives the hummus a soft texture and deep flavour.
Ingredients:
- 400g cooked chickpeas
- 2 tablespoons tahini (sesame paste)
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 clove of garlic
- 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Memmas Knossos extra virgin olive oil.
Do this:
Rinse the chickpeas well and drain them.
In a blender, add the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, peeled garlic and a pinch of salt.
Pour in the olive oil and mix until smooth and creamy. Add a little water if necessary to get the desired texture.
Transfer the hummus to a bowl and finish with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, paprika powder and parsley.
